Nomination Statistics

VOTERS on November 27 have a record 711 candidates to choose from, four more than in 2006.

Independents will play a large role with 87 standing independently, 24 more than the last election.

The remaining 624 candidates are from 10 endorsed political parties, with the ALP and the Greens the only parties fielding a candidate in all 88 lower and 40 upper house seats.
